[...] in covering Armstrong's death, journalists and news outlets have encountered a problem: there are surprisingly few photographs of Neil Armstrong on the Moon, and all but one of them are of his hind-quarters. We like to think that Armstrong would have found this situation amusing.

Neil Armstrong died Aug. 25, but his legacy as the first moonwalker is known by millions. But there's only one clear photo of Armstrong on the moon.

Imagine how an earlier generation of scientists must have felt when, on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon and then uttered his immortal words: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” You can get goosebumps thinking about it.
